Suresh Chhetry, MPhil

Suresh Chhetry is the Country Manager and Lead Facilitator of mental health and trauma informed care workshops at Healing Together Nepal. A former English teacher at Bright Horizon Children’s Home and School (BHCHS) in Nepal, Suresh served as a mentor, facilitator, and coordinator of the Life Skills and Leadership Development program (powered by Healing Together) - a social and emotional literacy, peace-building, and healing circle for youth impacted by trauma.

As a survivor of childhood trauma from extreme poverty and sexual abuse, Suresh lives by the values of hard work, positivity, and compassion. His powerful story of healing and resilience is a profound example of how, through love and connection, we can heal both ourselves and others.

Suresh has an MA in English and MPhil from Tribhuvan University.  He is a founding member of the Brave Movement - a global movement to end sexual violence against children, and is an advisory board member of Safe to Learn. He is also the founder and President of Shiva Shakti Youth Club - an all-volunteer, Nepali-led NGO that supports children’s education, women’s empowerment, and youth empowerment projects in Western Nepal.

​Suresh loves traveling, reading books, watching movies, and helping others.  He dreams of being a writer so he can tell stories about the triumph of the human spirit.
